Joy Sisisky
Chief Philanthropy Officer, Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties
Joy Sisisky is the Chief Philanthropy Officer at the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties, charged with overseeing all of the Federation's fundraising, engaging new generations of philanthropists and delivering advisory services, education and resources to Jewish philanthropists and in the community through a new center for Jewish philanthropy.
Previously, Joy served as the Executive Director of the Jewish Women's Foundation of New York from 2009-2016, working to advance the status and well-being of women and girls in the Jewish community in New York, Israel and beyond. Earlier in her career, Joy served as JFNA's Associate Director of National Women's Philanthropy, Development Director at Israel Policy Forum and as Assistant Director of AIPAC's Southern Pacific Region.
Joy was selected as the 2008 JDC Ralph I. Goldman in International Jewish Community Service living and working in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Joy is co-founder of Do Good Ukraine! the first-ever organization dedicated to building the civil sector in Ukraine through volunteerism. Joy is the immediate past National Co-Chair of JDC's National Entwine Steering Committee and is on the Board of JDC and serves on the Global Human Resources, Global Planning and Emergency and Disaster Relief committees.
Joy graduated from Brandeis University and earned a master's degree in Public Policy at the University of Southern California and a master's in Jewish Communal Service from Hebrew Union College, both in Los Angeles. Joy is married to Jonathan Salky and proud mom of two daughters, Alexandra and Emmy. After 16 years in New York, Joy and her family relocated to San Francisco in 2016.
